Our Teachers

All of the teachers at Blue Water Yoga are qualified, registered yoga teachers.

Kerryn Godfrey

I attended my first yoga class over 30 years ago and the connection was immediate and enduring. Without any understanding of the true purpose of this ancient science, I knew that my body felt better, my mind was much calmer and that the practice connected me to something that was familiar and nurturing – a deep, vibrant and peaceful stillness.

Over years of practice, this connection deepened and developed into a passion to share the benefits of yoga and I eventually began teaching in 2005, completing teacher training in the Rishiculture Ashtanga (Gitananda) tradition. I am also a Certified Svaroopa® Yoga teacher, an Embodyment® Therapist, and a teacher with the Art of Living Foundation.

I am grateful to all my teachers for their love, support and guidance and especially give thanks to HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for shining the light on me!

Abbey Jacobsen

I am a Certified Yoga Teacher (Hatha), also registered with Yoga Australia, and I have a passion for healthy living and true wellbeing in this bustling, modern world.

I adore the simplicity of Yoga: the way it allows us to slow down and discover our breathing. I love the way you feel different after every class - more positive, lighter...better. My teaching style encourages students to cultivate these attributes in a gentle, easy-going and considered way.

I work as a graphic designer, which requires a creative mind and an ability to be open to new ideas and I extend this to my yoga teaching, exploring fresh approaches to these ancient practices. My own regular practice has also given me wonderful insight into the therapeutic benefits of Yoga – learning how to care for my back and maintain spinal health.  If we don't move it, we really do lose it!
I hope to meet you soon!

Blair Shaw

I was first introduced to yoga in my early twenties with the simple aim of being able to touch my toes (at that point I could hardly get to my knees). It didn’t take long for me to not only be able to touch my toes (hooray!) but to realise that yoga is so much more than a deep stretch - that it builds strength of body and mind, generates peace and cultivates joy.

The more I delved into yoga, the more I felt myself drawing away from the competitive sports that dominated my younger years and relishing the inward journey that yoga evokes. Over the years, yoga has gently and kindly woven its way into my daily life and it has now become an essential part of my wellbeing and happiness.

Eager to deepen my practice, I studied throughout 2014 to complete my teacher training at Vitality Yoga, a style of Hatha yoga that focuses on yoga as a healing practice and making it accessible for all people. I aim to create a nurturing environment in my classes, where students feel supported, have fun, challenge themselves and leave the class feeling calm and happy. I enjoy coupling the practice with music and aim to interweave ancient yoga theory, pranayama (breath control) and meditation with the physical postures.

I feel extremely blessed to have the opportunity to teach alongside Kerryn and the other lovely teachers at The Lakeroom and to continue to meet so many wonderful people through Bluewater Yoga. I look forward to continuing my yoga journey with further studies and ongoing practice in the future.

Felicity Craig

I have an Advanced Diploma in Yoga Teaching and have been running my own yoga school for many years in Melbourne.  Having recently moved to Pt Lonsdale, I can now share my love of yoga with the local community here.
I have trained with Simon Borg Olivier and Master Yang, both of whom have transformed the way I practice, and teach, Yoga. I offer traditional Hatha yoga classes and also a lovely, gentle 3-dimensional practice called Calligraphy Yoga: a blend of Yoga, Tai Chi & Qi Gong.  I encourage students to take a fun and joyful approach to their practice and to move with fluidity and presence throughout the class. The calm, relaxed, centredness that you feel after each class is a beautiful and valuable gift to give ourselves.
